Joy Rampy founded Joy Construction in 1968. Her son, Sid, grew up in the business and has led the company for decades.
That family connection shapes the way we work: personal relationships, a dedicated project manager, and care for the home you're trusting us to build.

You don't need to have every detail figured out to start a conversation.
How long does a custom home build take?
Most builds take 10–16 months from signed contract to certificate of occupancy, depending on the home and site conditions. We’ll discuss a realistic timeline for your project during planning.
Do I need to own land before we talk?
No. Some clients already have a lot, while others need help finding one. We can discuss land sourcing in Brunswick County and along the North Carolina coast.
Can you build my home while I live out of state?
Yes. Your dedicated project manager keeps you informed with photos, calls, and updates throughout construction. We’ll discuss how that communication will work for your build.
How will we discuss my budget?
We’ll start with your goals and proposed budget, then work through a detailed estimate before plans are finalized. The consultation is a good time to discuss the scope of your project and the questions you want answered.
What happens during the first conversation?
We’ll talk about your ideas, preferred location, budget, and timing. You can ask questions about our process and find out whether Joy Construction is the right fit.
